The Gazette and KCRG-TV9 will be hosting a community forum on Thursday May 7, from 6-7:30PM at the Cedar Rapids Public Library. The event, entitled “Learning Forward: A Community Forum on Social Capital” will include panelists representing various aspects of community build along with Kevin Adler, author of the newly released book “Natural Disasters as a Catalyst for Social Capital: A Study of the 500-Year Flood in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.” Kevin’s book will be released this week and he is planning to visit Cedar Rapids in alignment to the May 7 event.
Local panelists will include Courtney T Ball, Jennifer Pruden, Stephanie Neff and Linda Seger.
The hope is this forum will help continue the ideas, revelations and aspirations so many work tirelessly to build for generations to follow.
